Anikulapo 2 officially wraps filming, with the director sharing a behind-the-scenes photo. The Anikulapo series, a Nigerian epic fantasy, shot in Oyo state, initially began in 2022, with the release of the first installment, which received good reviews from movie lovers.
The success of the first movie prompted Anikulapo: The Rise of the Sceptre, a second installment which began principal photography in August 2024.
Now, after months of filming, director Kunle Afolayan recently shared a photo on his official Instagram account, confirming that they had wrapped up filming for the highly anticipated Anikulapo 2, the second installment of the series.
The director revealed that 1200 cast and crew members were involved in the creation of Anikulapo 2 with 50 days and nights of hard work.
Kunle posted BTS photos with a caption that read: “We started the principal photography of the Anikulapo series’ new season on August 1st in Kap Film Village and Resort @kapfilmvillageandresort and Wrapped in Cape Coast, Ghana on September 19 making it 50 days and nights of hard work with about 1200 cast & crew members.”
Speaking further, he expressed his gratitude for the support he received from his partners including Netflix, Fly Airpeace, and National Film Authority.
However, as of the time of filing this report, the release date for Anikulapo season 2 is yet to be announced.
