He discussed the evolving landscape of Nollywood on YouTube platform, emphasizing the changing perception and opportunities for filmmakers. He also mentioned advantages, such as measurement of views and insights, echo the sentiment that it offers more empowerment and transparency for filmmakers compared to other platforms.

He wrote , “Radio ads and billboards are telling people to watch Nollywood movies on YouTube courtesy MTN. 2 years ago that was like telling people to support piracy. Things are changing really fast. Will YouTube be one key way we consume nollywood legally. Most filmmakers are there already It’s really happening isn’t it.

“In a way… YouTube feels like there’s more power in the hands of the filmmaker. They can measure these views and even get insights to where it’s coming from. This can make them adjust on subsequent productions. This is something the big streamers don’t share. Nollywood is very filmmaker centric so I’m really curious to see how this goes.”
