A video that has quickly gone viral shows Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye doing something many people in her position might not dare to do — standing face to face with a group of area boys on her movie set and refusing to be pushed around.
The video, shared on social media by a user named Usmanashafe on Thursday, shows a clearly agitated Bimbo holding her ground as a group of men showed up on location demanding she pay them money simply because she was filming in their neighbourhood.
“I am a street girl, let me tell you. Ask around — when it comes to matters of the street, I like settling boys. But you don’t come to me and tell me to give you a certain amount.”, Bimbo Ademoye said directly.
Her message was clear: she had no issue being generous, but she would not tolerate anyone acting as though extortion was a right they were entitled to. It was a distinction she made firmly and without flinching.
When one of the men pushed back, claiming he hadn’t come to beg, Ademoye didn’t miss a beat.
“Yes, you came to beg. You are even being proud of it,” she said .
The standoff reached its peak when one of the men threatened to switch off her camera. Her response? Razor-sharp and unforgettable.
