Veteran Nollywood actress and gospel minister Eucharia Anunobi has celebrated her appointment as Senior Special Assistant on Women Mobilisation for the Enugu North Zone by Governor Peter Mbah, days after sharing news of her new home.
The actress announced the news on social media Tuesday, 27 Oct, thanking everyone for the chance and marking a new chapter in her life.
When Anunobi made the announcement she introduced herself as the newest Honourable, and expressed her gratitude to Jesus for the victory and that her faith had no limit.
She was just days short of celebrating two major milestones in her life as a homeowner and on-screen actress.
Anunobi is set to assist in mobilising and engaging women in the Enugu North Zone in her new role.
The appointment puts the actress in the public service mantle, and puts her on a new pedestal to her career of acting, filmmaking and gospel ministry.
The appointment of Anunobi was part of the exercise involving 101 political aides under various appointments in the Enugu State Government with Governor Mbah himself being the first to be removed. These consisted of seven Special Advisers, six Senior Special Assistants and 88 Special Assistants.
The announcement was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Chidiebere Onyia in September. Recently, Anunobi has been the focus of media attention due to her social media post.
The Enugu State Government is not the only outfit to be joined by Nollywood actresses in the city; Anunobi is also on board with the government. Rachael Okonkwo (Nkoli Nwa Nsukka), popularly known as Nkoli Nwa Nsukka, was given the assignment of Senior Special Assistant to the President on Film and Creative Industry Development.
The focus of Anunobi’s assignment is on women mobilisation while Okonkwo’s is on the state’s film and creative industry.
The appointments give two familiar faces from the Nollywood belt a new face in the government in different portfolios.
