Popular Nollywood actress Biodun Sofuyi Olabiyi widely known as Omoborty or Biodun Okeowo, has openly criticized some of her fellow actors for not showing enough support to one another and to film producers.
In a recent online message, she pointed out a common problem where actors happily take part in making a movie but then refuse to help promote it once the work is done. She called this kind of attitude unkind and lacking in teamwork, reminding everyone that no star is bigger than the effort put into the project or the people who invest money in it.
Omoborty also highlighted how certain colleagues are reluctant to lend a hand to others. She shared that she often promotes movies even when she has no role in them, simply because helping out is easy and costs nothing. See her post below:
According to the actress, issues like jealousy and negative attitudes are big problems. Some people view the success of others as a problem instead of something to celebrate, and this way of thinking is holding back better teamwork and overall progress in Nollywood.
