Nigerian actress Tonto Dikeh has announced a powerful message of reconciliation and healing in her relationship with her ex-husband, Dr. Olakunle Churchill, the father of her son.
Taking to her Instagram page on Saturday, 24th January, Tonto described how God healed their broken bond after ten years of public fights, deep pain, bitterness, and no communication. She said what seemed impossible to fix has now been touched by God’s mercy. Peace has taken the place of chaos, and respect has returned where there was once anger. Tonto credited the change to salvation, humility, sincere prayers, and God’s Spirit, not human effort. She thanked Dr. Kunle for yielding to God’s word and choosing peace.
Tonto encouraged others facing similar struggles, saying God has not abandoned them and their story is not over. She urged people to keep praying, choosing love, and trusting God even when it hurts. She ended by praying for their restored relationship to stay strong on God’s mercy and grace, and called it a living testimony that God never fails.
She wrote on her Instagram page, “We are living proof that the Word of God is eternal and unfailing.
God is not a God who abandons what He has started. When He begins a work, He stays with it until it is completed.
After ten long years of public battles, deep wounds, broken communication, bitterness, and pain, God stepped in. What looked ugly, impossible, and beyond repair has been touched by mercy. Peace has replaced chaos. Respect has returned where anger once lived. What human effort could not fix, God healed by salvation, humility, and the sincere prayers of a child.
This restoration is not by might, not by wisdom, not by strength—but by the Spirit of the Lord. When God moves, the human mind cannot comprehend the process. He softens hearts, silences the enemy, and rewrites stories that looked finished. Every plan of darkness has failed. Stubbornness has bowed. Pride has melted. Love has found its voice again for my child.
I am deeply grateful to the father of my child Dr kunle for yielding to God’s word and choosing peace. Obedience to God always births restoration, even when the road has been long and painful.
To anyone standing where I once stood, tired, wounded, misunderstood, and believing nothing good can come out of the situation.please hear this: God has not abandoned you. Your story is not over. What He has started, He will surely perfect. Keep praying. Keep choosing love. Keep trusting God even when it hurts.
May this restored relationship remain built on the solid rock of God’s mercy, protection, grace, and mighty hand. May it stand as a living testimony that God never fails, never forgets, and never walks away from His own.
If God did it for us, He can do it for you. 🙏”
This comes after years of public drama between Tonto and Olakunle Churchill. The couple married in 2015 but divorced in 2017 after two years. Their split led to messy public disputes, with accusations of abuse, infidelity, and other issues aired on social media and in the news. Tonto often spoke openly about raising their son, King Andre, alone. She called herself both mother and father to him, and even referred to herself as “King Tonto” or the best dad, especially on Father’s Day. She has celebrated being his “Mr. Mom” and highlighted her role in his life since the separation.
Recent signs of better relations appeared earlier in 2025 when both parents joined to celebrate their son’s ninth birthday. Tonto’s latest post marks a full step toward healing and forgiveness after a long and painful period. She signed off with hashtags including #KINGTONTO, #DR.CHURCHILL, and #KING-ANDRE CHURCHILL.
This is a developing story, check back for update.
