Nollywood actress Lilian Afegbai has expressed strong disappointment after she did not receive a nomination for the 12th Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
The actress took to Twitter to share her feelings. She wrote that she does not need a nomination for validation. She added that everything happens for a reason.
Afegbai pointed out that nobody trended like her character Idia from the movie To Kill A Monkey last year. She described her acting in the role as perfect. She ended the post with the words “You guys can eat your award” followed by prayer hands emojis.
Recall NOLLYWOOD LIFE reported The Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards recently announced the nominations for its 12th edition. Movies such as Gingerrr and The Herd led the list with the highest number of nods. To Kill A Monkey also received several nominations across major categories.
Afegbai who is known for her role as Idia in To Kill A Monkey did not make the final list of nominees. Her reaction has sparked conversations among fans and followers in the entertainment industry. Many have praised her bold performance in the popular movie while others discussed the nomination process.
The awards ceremony is set to hold on May 9 2026 in Lagos.
