The film, which explores the hidden pressures of success, fame, and family obligations in the entertainment industry, opened strongly on December 12, 2025, earning over ₦200 million in its debut weekend – the biggest opening of the year. It has maintained momentum, topping the weekend charts and drawing praise for its relatable storytelling and ensemble cast, including Scarlet Gomez, Iyabo Ojo, Tobi Bakre, Destiny Etiko, Uzor Arukwe, and Akindele herself.

FilmOne celebrated the milestone on social media: “And yet, another history has been made. Thank you, West Africa 🇳🇬🇬🇭, for showing up, filling cinemas, and carrying this story with love. ₦512M at the box office. Fastest Nollywood movie to hit ₦512M. Number one film of the weekend. This is what belief looks like 💛.”

With this performance, Behind The Scenes has entered the all-time top 10 highest-grossing Nollywood films, reportedly ranking as the 6th overall and the 2nd highest-grossing title of 2025 so far – a remarkable achievement in under two weeks.

Industry observers note that Akindele continues to dominate Nigerian cinema, building on the success of previous hits like Everybody Loves Jenifa (2024’s record-breaker) and A Tribe Called Judah. The rapid climb underscores growing audience appetite for authentic, star-driven local stories during the festive season.
