The popular Yoruba movie series Koleoso has made history by reaching over 100 million views on YouTube.
NOLLYWOOD LIFE reports that the first instalment of the film series, now extended to ten parts, was released on 8 May 2025. And the series has episodes with millions of views each. This is a big achievement for Nollywood and African cinema.
The series, produced and directed by Ibrahim Yekini Bakare, also known as Iteledicon, is the first Nollywood title and the first African movie title to hit this milestone as one single story on YouTube. The views come from all episodes combined, from part 1 to the latest ones in season 2.
Iteledicon shared the exciting news with pride. He wrote: “HISTORY. RECORD. LEGACY. KOLEOSO HITS 100MILLION + VIEWS In total. Officially the FIRST Nollywood title and the FIRST African movie title to hits this milestone On YouTube as ONE TITLE. Yes—ONE TITLE. ONE STORY. ONE MOVEMENT.”
He thanked his team, cast, crew, and fans. “Hard work. Consistency. Creativity. From day zero, we won this. Let this be known that I, Ibrahim Yekini Bakare (Iteledicon), am the FIRST to pull this stunt in the history of Nollywood. Do not deny me of my flower.”
He added that he is proud of himself, his team, and his family. He called his supporters the “KOLEOSO FAMILY” and “LEGENDS” who made it happen. He said this is a win for Nollywood, Africa, the culture, the Yorubas, and Nigeria.
