Nollywood star Regina Daniels has opened up about her controversial marriage to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko, confessing she defied her mother’s stern warnings and “fell in love” despite the backlash.

In an emotional Instagram video posted on Wednesday, the actress and filmmaker pleaded with fans to stop attacking her mum, Rita Daniels, amid their ongoing marital issues. “My mum warned me, but I’m ashamed to say I fell in love. I actually really did. Everyone said no, including my mom,” Regina revealed, admitting her “coconut head” stubbornness.

She firmly denied claims of marrying for greed, insisting her family was financially stable. “We were not broke. What money can a man give a mother to get her child, who practically provides everything in the house and trained all her children?” she argued, praising Rita as “my god on earth” who has endured seven years of insults while holding the family together.

Regina also disclosed that the intense public pressure once drove her to suicidal thoughts, but she’s now determined to fight for her children. The candid outburst comes as she addresses persistent rumors surrounding her union with the senator.

In a separate emotional Instagram post on Wednesday, the actress raised alarms over Sammy’s alleged arrest, claiming he’s been held incommunicado by law enforcement for over 24 hours without access to family or legal aid. “Where is my brother? Over 24 hours gone, no word, no access. Law enforcement, please account for him and release him immediately,” Regina urged, tagging authorities in a desperate call for transparency amid the ongoing marital controversy that’s left her family under siege.
