Closure Mandate — Premieres August 1 (Prime Video)
Fifteen years, Linda has given David that much and sooner than she realized, is blindsided by his wedding news. In this one, there is a maelstrom of cheating, reversing and emotional retaliation. Linda also has to decide whether to seek vengeance or heal after she finds herself in a toxic love triangle.
This heart-throbbing drama is based on facts, written and directed by Robert O. Peters, and produced by Bode Ojo. It will have its streaming premiere on Prime Video, do not miss it.
Hakeem: Seeking Justice — In Cinemas August 1
Retribution happens when one man challenges a corrupt system in pursuit of and in belief in justice. Hakeem is a former soldier who returned home to discover the brutal killing of everyone in his home. Devoured by loss and anger, he travels on a dangerous mission to find out the truth and even live.
It is directed by JJC Skillz and produced by Afristar Media and stars Deyemi Okanlawon, Gabriel Afolayan, Regina Daniels, Chioma Chukwuka, Zubby Michael and Bolanle Ninalowo.
Dead Tide — In Cinemas August 1
When a video is leaked of the son of the president killing someone, chaos ensues as Itoro, a former Niger Delta militant, becomes an uneasy whistle blower. He becomes a target and must now keep both him and Sade who took the video, safe as danger becomes imminent.
Dead Tide was directed by Soji Ogunnaike and produced by POV Films and Rushing Tap Studios, and features the talents of Ikechukwu Onunaku, Mobimpe Adedimeji, Eniola Ajao, Ibrahim Suleiman and William Benson.
The Benefactor — In Cinemas August 8
The dreams of one enthusiastic future star are shattered by the person who was to lead her to the stage of success and she has got to make decision about silence and sacrifice, or speaking out loud and risk. The Benefactor is a novel that gives an insight into the other side of mentorship which is manipulation, ambitions and redemption.
Directed by Adeoluwa Owu, written by Temilolu Fosudo, the film stars Bimbo Ademoye, Kunle Remi, Tobi Makinde, Joke Muyiwa, Kiitan Bukola and Akin Lewis.
Revelations — In Cinemas August 15
A revered minister goes missing and his daughter who is a doctor in America goes back to the homeland to find out what happened. She is caught up in the midst of a romantic web of spiritual lies and family lies. Revelations is an intercultural play that dwells into a combination of both Nigerian spirituality and American noir narratives.
The film written by Martins Samuel was directed by Martins Samuel and stars Richard and Tega Mofe-Damijo, Chioma Akpotha, Tanya Price, Ryon Thomas, Nnamdi Kanaga and Alex Boye.
The Serpent’s Gift — In Cinemas August 29
Having just lost her husband unexpectedly, Ijeoma is at the epicenter of a power game where she is helpless. Set in Eastern Nigeria, The Serpent s Gift is a page turning mystery into how tradition, inheritance and ambition conspire and disregard how far one woman will go to protect what is hers.
Kayode Kasum directed it and it was produced by Winifred Nkiru Mena-Ajakpovi and stars Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Stan Nze, Tina Mba, Daniel Etim-Effiong, Beverly Osu, Nonso Odogwu, and Ric Hassani.
