Lisabi The Uprising is set to hit the Netflix platform on September 27th, 2024 with its sequel, Lisabi: A Legend in January 2025.
The official synopsis of Lisabi is the legendary story of a fol hero’s rebellion against an oppressive empire, fighting for his freedom and forever altering the course of Yoruba history.
Directed by Niyi Akinmolayan, the cast of the movie includes Lateef Adedimeji who doubles also as the executive producer of the movie, Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Itele Yekini, Ibrahim Chattah, Mo Bimpe, Eniola Ajao, and Liquorose Afije.
MO Bimpe, the producer of Lisabi The Uprising, gives movie lovers a Yoruba Tale of Egba farmers defeating over 6,000 Oyo soldiers, as they sought for their independence.
The movie promises to teach about Yoruba culture and its heritage, marking a defining moment for the Yoruba people. The film is a collaboration between AL Notion Studios and Anthills Studio.
