Nollywood star Funke Akindele has made history again. Her latest movie, Behind The Scenes, is now officially the highest-grossing film of all time in West Africa, surpassing her own previous record-holder, Everybody Loves Jenifa (around ₦1.8 billion).

FilmOne entertainment shared the exciting news on social media. They called Funke the “box office queen” and thanked fans for their support. “To every single person who bought a ticket, showed up, told a friend, and believed in this story, this win is because of you,” they wrote. “Thank you for making cinema history with us.”
This big achievement means Behind The Scenes has taken the top spot from Funke’s own previous hit, Everybody Loves Jenifa, which held the record before.
Just a few days ago, recall that NOLLYWOOD LIFE reported the movie had grossed over 1.77 billion naira. It continues to draw huge crowds in cinemas across Nigeria and abroad. This rapid climb from ₦1.77B puts Nollywood on track for its first ₦2B title.
