The new month September 2026 already prove to be a very busy month for Nollywood as new titles are making their way into both cinemas and streaming platforms on a weekly basis. Below, we take a look at every Nigerian film and TV show coming out this month.
A Mama Deola Wedding Story and Confusion Na Wa – September 3
This month’s opening sees two movies coming out that couldn’t be more different. A Mama Deola Wedding Story is a film version of Folagade Banks’ popular comedy skit character as Demilola gets married to Femi. The cast of the film includes Omowunmi Dada and Rotimi Salami as the happy couple along with Shaffy Bello, Bukky Wright, Iya Rainbow, Erica Nlewedim and Toyin Adegbola. The film was directed and produced by Femi Adebayo.
Confusion Na Wa is a dark comedy created by Kenneth Gyang. In this film, the author tells the story of how strangers whose lives collided in a course of 24 hours because of a phone found by two of them and a blackmailing attempt to get its owner pay. The cast of the film includes Ramsey Nouah, OC Ukeje, Ali Nuhu and Tunde Aladese. This film is already available for online streaming on Kava.
Nne Mgbafor – September 4
Nne Mgbafor, directed by Edward Uka, is a historical epic based on warrior traditions of Ohafia in Abia State. This is a story of a woman who defied traditions to change the future of her community, starring Femi Branch, Zubby Michael and Sam Dede. The film is distributed by Blue Pictures in Nigerian cinemas.
Properties of the Gods – September 4
Properties of the Gods is a film written and directed by Joseph Okechukwu after an eight-year absence. The film explores a historical story of the Igbo Osu caste system and the questions of identity and family, as well as forbidden love. Pete Edochie, Enyinna Nwigwe, Zack Orji, Hilda Dokubo and the late Onyeka Onwenu in one of her final screen appearances join the cast.
Ordinary People – September 4
Directed by Moses Inwang, this crime drama focuses on the concepts of secrets, survival, ambition, and redemption. The plot is set in a serene community where a network of stolen money, lies, betrayal, and entrenched suspicion starts unravelling. When the past re-surfaces, survival, ambition, and loyalty clash.
The series stars an all-star cast from Nigeria, which includes Ramsey Nouah, Adunni Ade, Chidi Mokeme, Michelle Dede, Lasisi Elenu, Sharon Ooja, Jackie Appiah, Uche Montana, Eddy Watson, Shawn Faqua, and Gbenga Titiloye. Ordinary People premieres on Netflix from September 4th.
Ajosepo – September 10
Ajosepo, directed by Kayode Kasum and released in 2024, is set to be streaming this month following its theatrical run. Ajosepo, which is a comedy drama, revolves around Dapo and Tani who have decided to get married but are faced with a controversy related to the families of both. The cast includes Timini Egbuson, Mike Afolarin, Tomike Adeoye, Mercy Aigbe and Toyin Abraham.
19 – September 11
19, directed by Tola Odunsi, features performances by Stan Nze, Sola Sobowale, Deyemi Okanlawon and Bisola Aiyeola, as it revolves around the life of Ndubuisi Madueke, a young man who gets into the cybercrimes world of Nigeria and finds his decisions haunt him later. Themes that are addressed in this movie include corruption, ambition, deceit and technology crimes.
19 is coming to cinemas on September 11th.
Invitation to Kill – September 11
Invitation to Kill, produced by director Chuks “Big Tiger” Obaze, revolves around actor Kalu Ikeagwu’s Julian, an agro-businessman who is compelled to reconstruct his life when his agro-business fails and his marriage breaks down. The movie debuts both in Nigerian and Ghanaian theaters on September 11th.
One Gigi Night – September 11
“One Gidi Night” by James Abinibi is a neo-noir film where one night in Lagos makes the life of a good man become a matter of life and death. This film stars Gabriel Afolayan, Uzor Arukwe, Idia Aisien, and Wunmi Toriola.
It releases only in theaters on September 11, 2026.
3 Wise Men – September 17
This film directed by Opa Williams is about three retired people who choose to take their pension money and have fun, being crazy, rather than staying in peace.
3 Wise Men Cast Includes Richard Mofe-Damijo, Zack Orji, Victor Olaotan, Ebere Okaro and Uche Nwaefuna
This film will be available for viewing on Kava starting September 17th.
Ajosepo 2 – September 24
Ajosepo 2 will debut in Kava in September 24th after it had been released in the movie theaters earlier in the year. Ajosepo 2: The Gathering is set two years after the wedding of Dapo and Tani and focuses on the relationship between Jide and Mary who are about to get married, hence bringing the family together again. Kayode Kasum will be directing the film while Timini Egbuson and Bolaji Ogunmola are leading the cast.
Strangers – September 24
The story revolves around a poor village boy fighting an ailment of some kind inspired by actual occurrences, where the course of his life is dramatically changed for good owing to the unearned generosity of strangers.
“The Movie” is directed by Biodun Stephens. Cast members include Lateef Adedimeji, Bimbo Oshin, Bolaji Ogunmola, Debbie Felix, Femi Adebayo, and Chris Iheuwa.

Starlomo – September 25
Musical artist Kamo State makes his film debut, starring in and producing Starlomo, a film directed by Kayode Kasum. His co-stars include Mike Afolarin, KieKie, Lateef Adedimeji, Folake Babatunde and Koyin Sanusi of Big Brother Naija, who is making her movie debut. Starlomo will hit the big screens all across the country on September 25th.
Black Market – September 26
Black Market is an upcoming film which seeks to beat the Guinness World Record. Produced under the direction of Fatimah Binta Gimsay, Black Market revolves around five women in a market who, amid the shortage of fuel, engage in a smuggling business. Things become tense for the women after one of them kidnaps a child from them.
The cast includes Lateef Adedimeji, Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Omowunmi Dada, Scarlet Gomez, Itele D Icon, Teniola Aladese, Susan Pwajok, and Uzor Arukwe.
The film has been produced by Nora Awolowo and Nicole Ofoegbu while co-produced by Omowunmi Dada and Abdul Tijani-Ahmed. Black Market will be premiered in Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS).
