Award-winning Nollywood actress and director Toyin Abraham has announced the title of her next movie release “Bestie” and said that it will hit the theaters across Nigeria on December 16, 2026.
Abraham shared the news in the video message uploaded on her Instagram account last Friday. The video starts off with the series of shots showcasing previous successful box office projects from Abraham’s career – “Ijakumo: The Born Again Stripper,” “Malaika,” “Alakada: Bad and Boujee” and “Oversabi Aunty.” After that, it reveals the name of the upcoming film – “Bestie.”
Toyin Abraham was the concept creator and director of the video announcing her next project, as she has always been very personally engaged in the creative process. The shooting and editing of the clip were done by Dopeviewsonly and Speedope, respectively, and the team working on glam included Addybeaut (hair), Addybeautclothing (wardrobe), Addybeautblush (makeup) and Addysexy (styling).
“BESTIE in Cinemas from 16th of December,” Abraham wrote in the caption of the post.
The actress thanked all the members of the creative team by tagging them in her credits post, which became a custom among her promotional releases.
No plot synopsis or cast listing has been revealed yet, however, the announcement already sparked heated discussions in the comment section of the Instagram post.
Toyin Abraham is known as one of the most successful and box-office reliable actresses in Nollywood with “Alakada” franchise and other movies from her filmography making it on the top-ten best-grossing Nigerian films of the corresponding years. “Bestie” becomes another addition to the list of movies scheduled for the month of December when the Nigerian cinemas have the busiest schedule.
