Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has yet again broken records as her movie, ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa, ‘ surpasses N1 Billion at the box office.
This recent achievement makes Funke Akindele fondly called the 001 of the Nollywood movie industry. It is no longer news that four of Funke Akindele’s movies are all dominating the box office.
Her last year’s film A Tribe Called Judah made history as the first Nollywood movie to cross the ₦1 billion mark, maintaining the first spot on the list of highest-grossing Nollywood movies, while ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ earns the second spot.
From directing Omo Ghetto: The Saga to Battle on Buka Street, Funke Akindele has proven herself to be the queen of the box office. Ahead of the movie release, Funke had made a bold declaration regarding ELJ, saying: “I have faith that this film will make ₦5 billion.”
