Wire Wire

Release date: July 24, 2026

Bolanle Austen-Peters returns to the director’s chair for Wire Wire, a drama set to hit screens in English and Yoruba. Austen-Peters also produces the film, bringing her signature style to yet another project.

The movie boasts an impressive cast list. Bisola Aiyeola, Bucci Franklin, Blossom Chukwujekwu and Erica Nlewedim lead the ensemble, alongside Lasisi Elenu, Emeka Nwagbaraocha, Lilian Afegbai, Olarotimi Fakunle, Boma Akpore and Neo Akpofure.

 

Njem: The Journey

Release date: July 24, 2026

Also premiering on July 24 is Njem: The Journey, a drama directed by Uche Chukwu. The English language film brings together a cast of seasoned and rising talents, including Tina Mba, Tana Adelana, Chimezie Imo, Kelechi Udegbe, Rotimi Salami, Toyin Oshinaike and Tomi Ojo.

The Return Of Omotara Johnson

Release date: July 10, 2026

This crime drama follows Omotara Johnson, a woman who has spent years trying to leave her criminal past behind and build a peaceful life with her son. That peace is shattered when her son is accused of murder, forcing old enemies to resurface and long buried secrets to come undone. A lover’s double life and a best friend’s dangerous secret add more layers to an already tense story.

The film is produced by Bukky Wright and directed by Adeoluwa Owu. It stars a powerhouse cast that includes Chidi Mokeme, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Ali Nuhu, Shaffy Bello, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Timini Egbuson and Bukky Wright herself.

 

Lami

Release date: July 6, 2026

Lami tells the haunting story of a retired military officer tormented by recurring dreams. As a storm threatens his family, he must decide whether to protect them from the danger outside or from the secrets he brought home from the war. The film explores how the past can follow a man long after the battle is over, forcing him to face two threats at once with no easy way out.

Samuel Idiagbonya both wrote and directed the film. The cast includes Tina Mba, Empress Njamah, Sydney Diala and Francis Duru.

Alechenu

Release date: July 3, 2026

Directed by Biodun Stephen, Alechenu tells the moving story of a thirteen year old autistic boy who sets out from his village in Oyo State to Lagos. Armed with nothing but a photograph and a backpack, he hopes to find the mother he has never known. It is a story about courage, longing and the search for belonging.

The film features a strong lineup that includes Femi Adebayo, Mike Ezuruonye, Blessing Nze Obasi, Adeniyi Johnson, Wumi Toriola, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Bimbo Ademoye, Abiola Kareem and Royal Aziomaku.
