Nollywood actor, Kanayo O Kanayo has stated that watching Nollywood movies on YouTube will no longer be possible in the future if filmmakers continue to create low-quality content all in the name of making money on the platform.

No more Nollywood movies on YouTube says Kanayo O Kanayo

He made this revelation on his Instagram page, criticizing inexperienced Nollywood actors who have not learned enough in making films but went ahead to upload poor performance quality videos on the platform. Kanayo O Kanayo also stated that soon, YouTube will no longer serve as a platform for filmmakers, meaning that the Nollywood movies that are currently available for free viewing on YouTube will not be available again.

In his words, Kanayo O Kanayo said, “Hello from this past midnight, I have sat back and watched the opportunities offered by YouTube channel as a very good platform. Unfortunately, anything that comes to Nigeria, our dear country people jump into it and try to mess it up.

“I have watched with dismay and I make this video now, not out of malice for anybody. As it is being messed up by different things, especially what the new actors are doing.

“Mark my word this day, If I am the professional that I have been all these years what I’m going to say to you right now is going to come to pass. We built Nollywood brick by brick, block by block but the guys who have besieged YouTube actors, not the producers don’t have in essence any sense of purpose to create a procedure for a lasting videography of creating content.”
